So many sites to look at and so many clever names to remember! But when I actually looked for material that would be better than what I have for AP English Literature students, the results were discouraging. Curriki had nothing I could use in my field. The video sites were interesting but most of the stuff on them is slick and pretty rather than intellectual or thought provoking. The clips were slow to load as well so there may still be some good ones there that I could no access in the time we had. I signed up for Facebook, Twitter, Delicious, and Animoto. I need to put some real time into Delicious, and Animoto said they would ge back to me in several days (??). I really like the Alltops site and plan to share that with my students.
What I would really like is a way to find first rate sites. I recently used an outstanding clip from the Colbert Report about poetry (sent by a colleague). I wish I had a way to look for clips like that one. It takes so much time to look at the infinite number of sites I have no use for. But how can I know I have no use for them until I look at them?
